Louis E. DeWitt

Louis DeWitt started the firm in 1975 after working as a prosecutor and then as an associate lawyer with another firm.
Since the firm's inception, Mr. DeWitt, while successfully concluding hundreds of substantial injury and wrongful death cases, also continued with an active criminal defense trial practice, with many high profile cases. Louis DeWitt tried over 150 cases to verdict.
Over twenty years ago, Mr. DeWitt became involved in highly complex motor vehicle "crashworthiness cases", including those against Mazda, General Motors, Ford, Toyota and others, and he continued to represent clients in product liability, major injury and wrongful death cases, including those involving watercraft up until his death in late 2009.
Mr. DeWitt was a member of Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles, Consumer Attorneys of California, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and an associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates and participated in other local, statewide and national trial and consumer lawyer associations. He was selected as a Super Lawyer by Los Angeles Magazine for the years 2009 and again 2010.
